Bicycle Mechanic

Job Description

You are organized, mechanically inclined, and dedicated to customer service.

Your primary job duties include but are not limited to:

  • You will need to complete all scheduled work orders, from minor repairs to complete overhauls and builds and assemblies, within the promised turn around time.
  • You will need to perform minor While-You-Wait repairs on the spot whenever possible.
  • You will need to maintain an organized, clean work area.
  • You will need to complete other tasks as assigned by your manager.
  • You will learn, understand, and adhere to Company policy, programs and standards as described by, but are not limited to the Metro Bicycle Stores' Blue Book and Handbook.

As a Metro Bicycle Store Mechanic, you will coordinate with the store staff and your manager to determine your work schedule based on scheduled repairs and assemblies.  In season, you will be expected to work more than 40 hours per week, while the off-season your role may require a less than 40 hour work week and you will need to have the ability to work evenings and weekends.

You are an ideal candidate, if:

  • You have at least 2 years of mechanical or tech experience working on bicycles at a bicycle store.
  • You are neat and organized, and are respectful of a shared work space.
  • You can communicate effectively, verbally, and by reading and writing.
  • You are capable of and willing to safely lift and carry at least 40lbs on a regular basis.
  • You are able to manage your time effectively and work under pressure.
  • You are motivated, able to work both independently and as a member of a team, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
