I am mainly a runner. After intermittent knee injuries, my friends suggested bike riding for a while. I shopped around and found Raleigh Cadent 3. I was going to buy a Cadent 4. But the mechanic in the shop said, the hydraulic bikes require yearly maintenance such as replacing the brake fluid. So, my decision was easy and saved $100 and the mechanical disc brakes work fantastic. I plan to use the bike ranging from 25 miles to 40 miles ride on Saturdays, and short distances whenever the weather permits. The bike rides smooth as advertised and the gear shifts are smooth. Needless to say, the seats are very comfortable. the tires come with the bike are harsh on trails. If you want to use the bike in trails, find alternate softer tires (my advise - negotiate in the price).
